Nightlife
So the world went bat-shit when the first lot of information about this essential Circo Loco take over in Birmingham during April was released. Across one weekend a long list of house and techno talents including Visionquest, Jamie Jones, Kerri Chandler, Cassy, Matthias Tanzmann, The Martinez Brothers and many more are coming to party at new venue the Arena, as well as the beloved Rainbow complex. Now, though, there is more news from the various camps as the event edges ever nearer…
Due to incredible ticket demand, the size of the festival has necessarily been increased with more tickets now on sale. First up, house and techno pin-up Maceo Plex has been added to the Day time line-up as well as an all-new Area 2
What’s more, a larger Hot Natured afterparty has been lovingly planned for you after the initial allocation sold out in only a matter of weeks. What that means is that it will now be held on the street (whoop for street raves!) with out of this world production and sound opening up the entire Rainbow Complex including The Rainbow, The Courtyard, Cellar Door, The Garden and Warehouse for a full on afterparty experience sound tracked by tech houser David Squillace, French deep don Jef K, 2020Vision artist Simon Baker and Crosstown Rebels newcomers Fur Coat. That’s not all, though; as there will be loads more announcements in the run up to the event, so keep your eyes all over the web to stay in the loop….

The hospitality industry in the city of Nottingham came together on May 10th to witness Coco Tang crowned Nottingham's Best Bar 2010 in a superb party at the Pitcher and Piano in the Lace Market.
Complimentary drinks courtesy of Vedett and Bacardi helped get the party started and after the ceremony, hosted by BBC's Richard Spurr, the Cuban Brothers blew the crowd away with their unique brand of entertainment.
Look out for the next issue of Freeq magazine for post awards coverage and pictures from the evening.

Fashionable females are invited to an evening packed full of glamour and style, as The Cornerhouse, Nottingham hosts a special Ladies Night in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness.
The event, on 11 August, will include demonstrations of the latest hair styles from Icon Hair and Beauty and makeovers courtesy of the top brands at Boots in the Victoria Centre. Renowned jeweller Carolyn Codd will be showcasing her latest designs and all this will be washed down with cocktails and canapés provided by The Cornerhouse’s many restaurants and bars.
Taking place on all four floors of the complex, this will be followed by an exclusive fashion show and Champagne reception in Revolution. Featuring fashions from LK Bennett, Ted Baker, Phase Eight, Hobbs and Warehouse all courtesy of John Lewis, and Project, Collard Manson and Bantum Clothing, it will be a chance to catch a coveted glimpse of the new season’s collections ahead of the crowds. Icon Hair and Beauty will be making sure the model’s hair matches their stunning clothes, while makeup will be by Dior at Boots.
The free demonstrations will be taking place in the atrium at The Cornerhouse from 6pm on 11 August - perfect for dropping in with the girls after work. The fashion show is also a free event, starting at 8pm, but entry will be by ticket only. Tables of four or six can be pre-booked through Revolution and everyone booking in advance will be entered into a prize draw to win the complete pamper experience with a ‘I Deserve It Day’ courtesy of Icon Hair and Beauty worth £150.
All fashionistas attending will also receive a goody bag full of hair and beauty samples, vouchers and sweeties and a raffle will be held on the night to raise money for the charity.
To book tickets for the fashion show, call Revolution on 0115 959 8072.
