liverpool festSet to be one of the most exciting new names on the musical calendar for 2009, Sound City in Liverpool gets ready to launch in May. The four-day event will provide a platform for a number of the hottest new bands, with acts already confirmed for the festival including Little Boots, the Zutons and White Lies.

More than 400 acts from around the globe are due to play to a total of 25,000 people at 30 of the city's most prestigious musical venues - including Korova, Alma de Cuba and the city Philharmonic Hall - over the course of the celebration, which will run from Wednesday 20th May until Saturday 23rd May.

Festival organisers said: "Sound City champions up and coming talent and captured the zeitgeist of 2008 with highlights that included Santogold, Hercules and Love Affair, Glasvegas, Hadouken, Reverend and the Makers, Laura Marling, the Whip, Port O' Brien, Crystal Castles, Ladyhawke and the Wombats."

Book your tickets as soon as possible to avoid missing out. Early bird tickets cost £35 and regular passes cost £60 in advance. Tickets on the door will cost £80.
