You could argue D Edge kick started a revolution in Brazil... it’s been one of the country’s most celebrated nightclubs and one always content to going its own way, against the mainstream rush elsewhere in the country. After three years elsewhere in Brazil, D-Edge now celebrates the fact it has been at the cutting edge in Sao Paolo for 9 whole years, making the club a total of 12 years old and a veteran of two different cities.
Under the stewardship of owner, passionate music lover and warm host Renato Ratier, D-Edge has also grown to encompass a record label and agency of excellent repute, both of which nurture and enhance local andnational talents and scenes with vigor, and so too is the club about to release a very special compilation from Luke Solomon.
Bringing the finest underground talent from the worlds of house, techno and everything in between; the club is a compact but futuristic space with punchy soundsytem, award-winning design, intimate dancefloors and LED enhanced lighting.
To celebrate this decade at the top, Sven Vath will be headlining a huge party at the club on 19th April, but the whole birthday month will feature a number of special line-ups. As well as this, D-Edge will be hosting the terrace at the famous Warung where they intend to showcase the best in Brazil’s house and techno talent.

This Monday was a very special day for many people around the world - but of all the gifts exchanged and received throughout the consumer celebration that is Valentine’s Day, the best of the lot comes from Nottingham’s top lyricist Karizma, in the form of his brand new ‘10/10’ mixtape… And best of a…"I'm proud of what I've created"
Michael Eavis told Freeq magazine how after watching Muse headline Glastonbury and heading off to Shangri-La for a late night party, he felt 'proud' of what he's achieved with this festival and that the six hours between 10pm and 4am were the 'best six hours' of his life.
Last year he told us it was the 'best Glastonbury ever' but that seems to have been eclipsed by the 40th anniversary celebrations according to the man who matters.
Eavis also explained that the three headline acts for next year have been confirmed and that after Edge played with Muse last night, U2 may well be headlining in three years time.
Michael will be opting to miss the football match today in favour of fulfilling his commitments in the Greenfields area, location of his annual Q&A session although he did question whether anyone will attend in light of it clashing with the big match.
He also paid tribute to the 20,000 plus volunteers who make the festival work each year and explained the event's ongoing support of the local community "I wrote out a cheque to the local village school for £39,000 last year, that's serious money."
Michael spoke of the involvement Billy Bragg has had in developing a concept for Leftfield and the political activism behind it citing himself as a "non-conformist Methodist". At 74, Michael seems to delight more and more each year in being his own man, and with this much power at his fingertips, it's good to see his feet are still firmly on the ground.
Possibly one of the filthiest special guest appearances of all time at Glastonbury's 40th anniversary occurred late on Thursday night during the Cuban Brothers set at Cocktails and Dreams and it was all captured by Freeq magazine for you our very special readers.
